Brabazon Half Marathon & 10k

Sunday 7th April – Bristol

A new event took place in Bristol last Sunday- the Brabazon Half Marathon and 10k.

Named after the historic Brabazon airliner, the aircraft took it’s first flight in 1949 and was designed by the Bristol Aeroplane Company in Filton.

It was a very blustery day, but despite the challenging conditions our club members flew around the course, held on flat paths around Bradley Stoke and Patchway.

Congratulations to Steph James (1:57:17), Steve Lambert (2:15:16) and Adrian John (2:05:30) who completed the half marathon distance.

Yvette Loxton and Georgia Barrett took part in the 10k – this was Yvette’s first race in club colours (1:00:53) and Georgia’s first 10k race (1:01:12). Well done both, great running!
