August Race Round Up
Great results from team and individual events
Bristol Balloon Fiesta Run – Friday 11th August
14 members decided to get up super early and run to Ashton Court to watch the 6am morning ascent.
The run consisted of 4 miles out along Festival Way cycle path and the same route back, with some of us finishing off with a coffee back in Clevedon.
Luckily the balloons went up and it was a delightful start to the day.

Trail Events Cotswold 12k – Saturday 12th August
Congratulations to Helen Ball who took part in this new event, picking up 1st Lady and 1st Vet prizes. The course covered all types of terrain with plenty of stiles and gates to manoeuvre along the way.
Crook Peak Cake Race – Wednesday 16th August
5 members took on this years Crook Peak Cake Race – a 3 mile/800ft Category B Fell Race.
Conditions were a little warm for hill running, but the clear evening provided stunning views across the Somerset Levels at the top of the Peak.
Well done to Rebecca Layland, Laura Croker, Frances Crozier, Rory Donovan, Richard Grant.
South West 5k PB Series – Wednesday 23rd August, Odd Down Cycle Circuit
Jemma Lewis was thrilled to achieve her 5k PB at the August race, finishing in a terrific time of 20:51 and going under 21 minutes for the first time. Congratulations to Jemma – a well deserved reward for all of her dedicated training over the last few months.
Cleeve 5k Relays – Sunday 27th August
Clevedon AC enjoyed a great day of local racing at the Cleeve 5k Relays on Sunday.
Also incorporating the Avon Road Relay Championships, the race leaves the Cricket Club with runners heading out on country lanes, up over Jasmine Lane, through Claverham Village and back into the sports field for the handover.
We entered 9 teams, with the Senior’s running 4 legs and all other categories 3 legs. Conditions were good and there were great team and individual results.
