Great results for Steve and Tanya

Dubai Burj2Burj Half Marathon and the Cardinham Marathon

There were great individual achievements recently with Clevedon AC members competing at home and away.

Steve Lambert competed in the Burj2Burj half marathon in Dubai. A flat, fast route was promised and for the elite athletes it was certainly the case with Bernard Koech finishing in 1:00:15 and Eilish McColgan in 1:08:57.

Over 7000 athletes took part, starting in the dark from Emirates Towers, passing the Burj Khalifa at sunrise and finishing on the beach in front of the Burj Al Arab. After a busy, packed start Steve got into a decent rhythm and thoroughly enjoyed the experience, completing the event in 2:06:57.

Closer to home, Tanya headed down to Cornwall to take part in the hilly Cardinham Marathon. The trail race takes place up and around the woodland near Bodmin, with over 4,600ft of elevation along the way. It was a long course, coming in at just over 27 miles and Tanya was delighted to finish 4th lady in 5:05 and 1st in her age category.
