January Race Round Up
XC Champs, Riverbank Rollick & Weston Prom Run
South West XC Champs 2024 – Sunday 7th January, Taunton

Blue skies and mild temperatures greeted runners at RNAS Merryfield. However, due to a few days of rain in the lead up to the race, the wet and boggy 5.8k course made tough running for the 3 ladies and 9 men representing Clevedon AC.
Despite conditions, some great runs for Clevedon as ever to start the new year!

Riverbank Rollick – Sunday 14th January

Three of us headed to Thornbury today to take part in the Riverbank Rollick. This is a 9.6 mile run on trails, bridle paths, fields, woodland, a stream and along a riverbank. 80% of the course is off-road.
The weather was perfect with a little bit of sunshine
I would highly recommend this to anyone who likes off road. It was tough, due to the amount of mud but it was well organised and had plenty of marshals.

Weston Prom 5-mile Race – Run 5/9 , Thursday 18th January

20 members took part in the Weston prom this week. It was a chilly evening but some great performances.
Congratulations to Craig Allan, James Foster and Rebecca Layland on their PB times and special shout out to new member Sam Twine who ran his debut race for Clevedon AC.
