Off-road racing kicks off the new year!
Haldon Forest Half & The Riverbank Rollick
The 2025 race season kicked off yesterday with Clevedon members taking part in 2 off-road events.
Tanya Baker-Gill had a great result at the Haldon Forest Half Marathon – a challenging 3-lap course with 2480ft of elevation – and was delighted to finish in 2:17.50, taking home the 2nd Lady trophy.
Over in Thornbury, 6 members competed in the iconic Riverbank Rollick event. The 9.6 mile route is 80% off-road and covers bridleways, fields and includes a section through a stream.
Congratulations to Matthew Evans who was first across the line for Clevedon, finishing in 24th position in a time of 1:12.42 and 2nd on his age category.
He was closely followed by James Foster in 1:17.18 who was 39th and really pleased to have achieved a 3-minute personal best time compared to last year.
Next home were Steph James in 1:38.35, Adrian John 1:50.04, Marie Lochrie 2:00.36 and Steve Lambert 2:01.22.
Well done all, great running in muddy conditions!
