Sunday 28th September

Race Round-up…..Part 2

On the 28th September, Clevedon members competed across several locations, with Baaba heading the furthest from home to race in the Hans Christian Anderson Half Marathon in Denmark. Held on the streets of Odense, the event takes runners around the picturesque town; the birthplace of the famous storyteller.

Steve L ticked off another half marathon, this time in Swindon. With the first 5 miles mostly flat, Steve was able to settle in and prepare for the hilly middle section before enjoying a nice descent to the finish, crossing the line in 2:03:10.

Over in Devon, Stuart represented the club at the Barnstaple Half. The popular race is a great mixture of road and trail, covering the streets around the town and sections of the lovely Tarka Trail. Stu put in a superb effort, finishing in 8th position in 1:22.

Closest to home, Mike and Trixie were in Portishead for the Black Nore 10k. Hosted by Portishead RC, the multi-terrain event offers a challenging route, including sections along the coastal path. Mike delivered a fantastic performance, finishing in 2nd place. Trixie loves to race and, despite completing the trail marathon the day before, achieved 8th place. Well done both!
