Race Round Up!

Autumn race season is well underway and Clevedon athletes have represented the club at some epic events!

Mark took on the Ring O’ Fire challenge; a non-stop endurance race that circumnavigates the island of Anglesey. Mark ran through the night crossing beaches, fields, trails and cliff paths, completing the 130 miles in a fantastic time of 35:02:48 and 10th position. An awesome achievement!

Tanya also enjoys an ultra marathon and recently completed the Mendip Marauder for the second time; a 30-mile race with 4800 feet of elevation. Other than a couple of heavy downpours the conditions were good and Tanya enjoyed the course just as much for the first time.

Steve and Baaba took part in the Westonbirt Arboretum Summer Races; a popular race series with events covering a variety of distances, all held on stunning trails through the arboretum.

Both had great results, with Steve running the 10k course in 1:05 and Baaba the Half Marathon distance in 1:33.

Steve followed this up with Chippenham Half Marathon yesterday and was delighted to finish in his second fastest time for a half, in 2:01.
