Mendip Muddle 20km fell race and the Dresden 10k/Half Marathon

Congratulations to all the club members who raced over the weekend.

Six members took to the hills for the Mendip Muddle, a 20km fell race hosted by Weston AC. The route starts and finishes in Charterhouse, taking in Velvet Bottom, Dolebury Warren, Rowberrow and Beacon Batch across 1,700 feet of climb in the Mendip hills.

Although the weather on the day was perfect, the wet weather leading up to the event made it very soggy underfoot adding extra challenge to the course.

First home in 6th place and the 1st senior male was Jack Richardson, closely followed in 9th place and exactly 4 minutes later by Steve Wood taking the V50 category win.

A really strong run on his off-road debut from Nick King saw him next home for the club, followed by Kieran McManus, Tom Abrahams and Richard Grant.

A really great event in a stunning part of the country right on our doorstep with spectacular views (including The Don itself).

During a trip to Germany, Emma Rossiter and Jamie Ascott took part in the Dresden 10k and Half Marathon respectively. It was Jamie’s first event representing the club and he was thrilled to achieve a personal best time.

Well done all!
